In our ongoing pursuit to celebrate and acknowledge exceptional individuals who have made a significant impact on Mississippi’s African-American community, we are thrilled to announce that we are now accepting nominations for the most influential African-American leaders in the state. This initiative aims to recognize and honor those who have dedicated their lives to uplifting their communities, breaking barriers, and inspiring others through their remarkable achievements.

Mississippi has been home to countless extraordinary African Americans who have shaped history and paved the way for progress. From civil rights activists and educators to artists and entrepreneurs, these individuals have left an indelible mark on the state’s cultural fabric. By recognizing their contributions, we hope to shed light on their invaluable efforts while also inspiring future generations.

We invite you all to participate in this nomination process by identifying outstanding individuals whose work has had a lasting impact on Mississippi’s African-American community. These leaders can be from any field – be it politics, business, arts and culture, education, healthcare, or social activism – as long as they have demonstrated exceptional dedication toward creating positive change.

Our esteemed panel of judges will carefully review each nomination received before selecting the most influential leaders, who will be honored at the esteemed Our Mississippi Honors Gala in Tupelo, Mississippi, on March 23, 2024. Through this process, we aim not only to celebrate these remarkable individuals but also to foster a sense of pride within our communities while inspiring others towards impactful leadership.
