2027 Black History Month Tribute

Our Mississippi Foundation will host the 2027 Black History Month Tribute in Tupelo, MS. This year’s program features a special performance by MADDRAMA, Jackson State University’s acclaimed theatrical performance ensemble. The evening will also recognize outstanding past and present community leaders whose contributions continue to shape, strengthen, and inspire our region.

This year’s honorees include:
William Armstrong, Sr.; Dr. Thurmond Beasley, Louise Cole, Merlin Conway, Sr.; W.C. Cummings, Frank Dowsing, Nettie & Fred Davis, Tommie Lee Ivy, Deloris LaGrone, Zell Long, Kenneth Mayfield, Toy McKinney, George Pulliam, Joe Ruff, Sr.; Shelton Shannon, Luther Cunningham Sims, Johnnie Lee Smith, William Smith, Sr.; Wilma Trice, and William Clayton Tucker.

Their leadership, legacy, and dedication to community service continue to uplift Tupelo and Lee County, reminding us of the values that move our region forward.

This meaningful evening of remembrance and celebration is expected to sell out early. Early ticket purchases are strongly encouraged.
